We are now starting to update our website, we will try and add new information each month, we may be doing the work here at Hedwig's Hotel but we know without the help from all of YOU out there offering us support we wouldn't be able to do what we do! Thank you all.
Well, what can we say but the last two years have been a monumental shift between helping a few hedgehogs through the winter to being open and ready to accept into our centre hedgehogs all through the year.
Last year alone (2023) we have seen a huge rise in our intake of young orphaned hedgehogs, most are found struggling to walk in the hot days, they are watched and its made sure that their mom has definetly left them, when this happens any hog less that 250gms will die without intervention and thats where we come in.
Another area where we have seen a rise are hedgehogs that have been attacked by dogs, we are lucky i think that the numbers are low, but in those cases we have had to have their wounds stitched up by our vet.
We have now started to attend local events to help raise awareness about a favourite garden visitor and how we can all do a little something to help them out during times that they find hard.
